Prorok a Mucedník (The Prophet and the Martyr) is a book, written by an independent young writer, Marina Komárková. After a successful fundraising campaign, the book was released as a self publication a year later. My job was to create a consistent, suitable design, which represents the message of the book.

The book cover is showing one of the most important characters of the book, drawn by the author itself. Its magical look represents the soul of the story, as well as the elegant handwriting.
For the inside I used mainly Roman numbers for the story's connection to the antique art. The main character doesn't know who he really is, the struggle follows him the whole story. That's what the slice of the numbers and headings represents.
